My sister last year wanted to get me something I really wanted for Christmas and I had told her that I really wanted new slippers and the ones I wanted were these really cool ones that are advertising on T.V. They are called Memory slippers. And so off she went and did her shopping.
CHRISTMAS DAY
I get this gift from my sister and yes you had guessed right it was the memory slippers I wanted. So immediately I kicked off my old slippers and put on the new ones. And there is nothing like new slippers to wear in. And these were so nice. The sponge inside was perfect and I did test them a little.
I would take them off to see if the memory would come back and it did. But sadly this was short lived. Now I have bought new slippers which were cheaper than the memory slippers and have lasted longer than the memory slippers to. They are warmer too. I bought myself bootie slippers.
WHAT HAPPENED TO MY MEMORY SLIPPERS
Well firstly the memory slippers lost their memory. I mean literally the sponge doesn’t remember to bounce up again. So now there is a constant imprint of my foot on the inside of my shoe. Which isn’t too comfortable.
Secondly they are very poorly made. They are falling apart under my feet. How I hear you ask? Well how it looks like these things are made is the plastic sole base thing is stitched to the top of the slipper, and this stitching is unravelling. Which of course means my pair of slippers are no longer remaining as two shoes but are becoming four. Because the bottom is leaving the top.
WHY AM I TELLING YOU THIS??
Because I don’t want you to be left with that bad taste of being ripped off in your mouth. Because these memory slippers are a con in themselves. And the more people who know about these cons being sold on our National broadcasters stations by Home shopping networks like Verimark, Homemark and Glomail.
It makes me wonder if any of these products sold on T.V work or actually do what they say they do. Us as consumers need to be aware of these cons. Just recently we found out about Simply Slim and how it had to be removed off the market after they had done tests and found that it had illegal stuff in it that actually was very harmful to our bodies. And it took them a year or two to figure this out. And why? Because people complained.
We are not protected by the con artists. Or by these Cons. Yes there are bigger cons out there like timeshare where the only way you can get out of it is by dying. But why should it be this drastic. We need a board that regulates and tests things before consumers can even know of them. Cos right now our best interests are not looked after. The only thing everyone is after is our money.
Like Tim Brokaw said:” It’s easy to make a buck. It’s a lot tougher to make a difference.”
