It’s Saturday evening and I find myself and some friends in the car on our way to S.K.I.N in Fourways. Now how these lesbian parties work is they are party organisers hosting parties at other clubs. So we arrive and walk up the dark stairs to this party being hosted by Natasha Quinn and Kerri Stein.
We walk into this very red, cool and well ventilated club. The music was spot on. It kept me bouncing on my bar stool for a while before venturing out onto the dance floor. As I am dancing on my seat I’m observing the girls as they come in and it was nice to be out at my ripe age of 30 and not feel like I could go to jail because the girls are so young. The girls I would say were roughly between the ages of 25- 45 or so.
With awesome DJ Amanda on the decks, keeping my feet and the feet of many dancing the whole night. I must say it was nice to not feel like a sardine in a hot smoked can. Especially as I am one of those girls who likes my space when I dance and what’s nice is the drinks weren’t too bad in price either.
My biggest fear when going out is the bathrooms and the lack of toilets and so a que so long you almost end up going in your pants or cleanliness but when I arrived at the queless bathroom and found more than two toilets I was very happy and surprised. And on top of that there was a lady in there cleaning the bathrooms and making sure that everything was clean and fully stocked.
Over all I would say S.K.I.N rocked. They have thought of everything. It’s nice to have an up-market mature place to go where one can relate to people with life experience. I loved the time I had there. Yes it’s not all about the place but the company you go with and I can truly say thank you to the girls who accompanied me. I haven’t had such a good time in such a long time especially in a club. And thank you to Natasha Quinn for starting S.K.I.N. You seem to have a very good idea of what the lesbian community is looking for when it comes to clubbing. You found a club a nice clean venue with safe parking, close to the highway. With more than two toilets and oxygen so that the non smokers don’t suffer because of the smokers. I give S.K.I.N and Casablanca a big thumbs up and I suggest that you all get down to Casablanca and S.K.I.N have yourself a good time.
